The Minnesota Wind Chill and Minnesota Strike are excited to offer this early spring clinic opportunity for youth players at Sea Foam Stadium! This is a sanctioned Minnesota Ultimate event! This single day clinic will be coached by Wind Chill and Strike players, coaches, and other pro/elite club ultimate players from the area.
The clinic is open to youth players of all ages and genders. Drills and games will be split up roughly by age—middle school and high school students going the full three hours, and kids 10 and Under for just the first 60 minutes.
10 and Under: An Introduction to Ultimate! This 60 minute session (9:00am to 10:00am). will focus primarily on getting kids excited to have a disc in their hands. We'll play fun and engaging games that get the kids used to catching and throwing.
Middle School: This 3 hour session for Middle School players (9:00am to 12:00pm) will have players working with coaches on game-specific drills and games that will translate to their current skill level and league competition, followed by the opportunity to scrimmage at the end of the clinic.
High School: This 4 hour session for High School players (9:00am to 1:00pm) will have players working with coaches on more advance techniques and game-specific drills that will translate to their current skill level and league competition. Groups will be broken up into beginner and advanced to help coaches cater skills and drills to the level of the experience within the group of high school players. The final hour will be dedicated to full field scrimmaging. We ask that high school players identify as Beginner or Advanced in their registration. Advanced would be defined as a player with at least 1-2 years of organized playing experience, understanding of the rules of the game, and a high level of confidence in their throwing capabilities.
